St. Ann Golden Club

This social club is open to all senior citizens. Meetings typically consist of an informative speaker, a hot nutritious catered lunch, followed by an hour of entertainment. Come early to get a seat, meet
a wonderful group of local seniors and grab the latest senior scoop which debuts at every Golden Club.

The Senior Scoop is a 16 page newsletter that the Parks & Recreations Department sponsors just for seniors. In it you can find the next Golden Club highlights, new day trips, informative, sometimes humorous articles and activities for each month. New Trip sign ups are open from 10am-11am, before Golden Club begins. The scoop is available in the lobby of the community center or in the senior office.

Alton Bell and Fast Eddie’s Bon Air
(Wednesday August 4, 2010)

After eleven years of everyone telling me they want to go to Fast Eddie’s we are GOING!  They have expanded and have enough room to accommodate a large group of us.  They are known for their delicious food and incredibly low prices:  Peel and eat shrimp for twenty nine cents each, half pound burgers for ninety nine cents, pork kabobs for $1.99 ….and more.  We’ll start at the Alton Belle and finish with a late lunch at Fast Eddie’s. *Fast Eddie’s does not allow doggie bags.

Leaving: 9:30am
Returning Approx: 3:30pm
Cost: $ 18 (Lunch is on your own.)

Promises, Promises at Stages
(Wednesday August 11, 2010)

Based on a book “The Apartment” written by Neil Simon, this quirky romantic comedy tells the story of Fran Kubelik, a cafeteria waitress whose romantic troubles have got her down and Chuck Baxter, the enterprising associate on the way up.   The story will tickle your funny bone and break your heart and entertain you all along the way.  The score was written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, and includes such songs as “I'll Never Fall In Love Again”, “Promises, Promises” and many more.  If you like witty, beautifully written shows, with catchy, tuneful songs, you will love PROMISES, PROMISES.  We will have lunch at First Watch again before the show….they have great food and excellent service. And don’t forget, we also might get to stay after the show and hear from one of the actors or crew. Limited amount of seating so don’t wait to sign up!

Leaving: 11:00am
Returning: Approx. 4:00pm
Cost: $ 42

St. Ann Senior Wii League

 WII LEAGUE.JPG

Every Monday from 1-3pm we have a Senior Wii League here at the community center. We encourage all seniors to stop by and check out the Wii game, and enjoy some friendly competition.
The price is right (free), there's no slick lanes to worry about falling on, no heavy ball to toss down the lane, and best of all if your wobbly, just sit in a chair.
Wii truly is a game for everyone.

Visit or contact the senior office for more information on these trips.
